Despite being in the depths of January Ipswich BMX Club has been working feverishly, planning for the year ahead.
The great news is that we have plenty of BMX action lined up in 2024. We will be hosting the fifth round of the BMX East Summer Regional Series on Sunday 16th June. British Cycling Silver membership and transponders are a requirement for this event. Registration will be via the British Cycling website later in the year.
Join us every Tuesday evening from 2nd April until 24th September for practice, coaching and racing. Please keep checking our Calendar for exact details. Coaching is subject to availability and must be booked in advance via the members Spond app.
Our own Summer Series returns with the best 9 from 11 rounds counting towards your overall standing. Race a minimum of 8 rounds to qualify for an award. Entry costs £4 per round for IBMXC member, riders from other British Cycling affiliated clubs £6 if pre-registered. Entries on the day will incur a £2 additional charge. Round one is on Tuesday 23rd April. Registration closes at 6.30pm. Transponders (individual timing chips) will be required and these can be hired for £3 per round (subject to availability) if needed. Hot and cold drinks will be available trackside!
Please make yourself known at the clubhouse if you can help out on the evening with marshalling etc. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Don’t forget there’s lots’ going on before we even make it to the summer. This Saturday 27th January we continue with our coaching sessions for the Advanced, Core and Fundamental development groups. There’s more coaching at the track during half term too, see our Calendar for further information. On Saturday 3rd February we hold the next round of our 2023/24 Winter Series, with registration closing at 10.30am that day.
We also have our Easter Open fun day on Saturday 30th March. A come and try BMX fun day with games both on and off the track. There are Lots of prizes to be won.
Club coaches/volunteers will be on hand to offer instruction and advice. A limited amount of club bikes and safety equipment will be available to borrow. Everyone welcome!
