Volunteer awards/Coaching/Maintenance and British summer time.

The 2021 British Cycling Eastern Regional Volunteer Awards took place on Friday at the Colchester Sports Park and Ipswich BMX Club were proud to receive nominations in a number of categories.

Club Secretary Tracey Reeve was a runner up in the Volunteer of year category, as was Abi Pike in the Young Volunteer of the year category. Club Coach John Lillingstone also received a commendation in the Coach category.

Congratulations to all the winners on the evening and to everyone who has ever helped improve the sport of cycling in our region.

British Cycling Eastern Regional Volunteer Awards

The following day Ipswich BMX Club riders took part in a coaching session delivered by club coaches Shaun Andrews and John Lillingstone at Cyclopark near Gravesend.

As you can see from the images the weather was great and riders got to sample the track before it hosts rounds 3 and 4 of the British Cycling national BMX series next month.

Well done to everyone who took part and made the long journey.

Today club volunteers continued to improve our Landseer Park facility by levelling out the area directly in front of our clubhouse and cutting the grass around the track.
